Chronic Migraine

  1. BOTOX® is approved by the FDA to prevent headaches in adults with chronic migraine who have 15 or more days each month with headache lasting four or more hours each day in people 18 years or older.
  2. BOTOX® received FDA approval for treatment of chronic migraine based on efficacy and safety demonstrated in two well-controlled clinical trials.
  3. Multiple injections are placed at sites around the head and upper neck.
  4. Relief might last three to four months.

Cervical Dystonia

  1. Dystonia is involuntary movements and prolonged muscle contraction, resulting in twisting body motions and abnormal posture. These movements may involve the entire body, or only an isolated area. Symptoms may even be “task specific,” such as writer’s cramp. Dystonia can be inherited, occur sporadically without any genetic pattern, or be associated with medications or diseases.
  2. Results from clinical studies show that after receiving BOTOX®, MYOBLOC®, DYSPORT® or XEOMIN® treatment, the vast majority of people with cervical dystonia had improved head position, neck pain that was less intense and happened less often, and an improved ability to function in certain daily activities.
  3. Stop or greatly reduce neck pain and muscle spasms.
  4. Reduce intensity and frequency of pain.
  5. Improve your ability to perform certain daily activities.

  1. Blepharospasm is a medical condition causing increased blinking and involuntary spasm of the eyes.
  2. BOTOX® is FDA approved to help relieve the muscle spasms with results that may last up to 3 months.

Hemifacial Spasm

  1. Hemifacial spasm is a disorder causing frequent involuntary contractions of the muscles on one side of the face.
  2. Clinical studies show that BOTOX® provides substantial improvements in most patients, with a mean duration of improvement ranging from 3-6 months.

Upper Limb Spasticity

  1. Spasticity is a state of increased tone of a muscle (and an increase in the deep tendon reflexes). For example, with spasticity of the arms there is an increase in tone of the leg muscles so they feel tight and rigid.
  2. BOTOX® is approved by the FDA to treat increased muscle stiffness in elbow, wrist, and finger muscles in people 18 years and older with upper limb spasticity.
  3. BOTOX® received FDA approval for the treatment of upper limb spasticity based on efficacy and safety demonstrated in three well-controlled clinical trials.

  1. Hyperhidrosis is a relatively common condition causing excessive sweating which can interfere with personal and professional activities.
  2. BOTOX® is FDA to treat the symptoms of severe underarm sweating (severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis) when medicines used on the skin (topical) do not work well enough in people 18 years and older.
  3. Duration of benefit is from six to sixteen months.
